Call Management

HomeTel Call Management service provides you with the ability to screen callers before your phone rings.  This service automatically screens out unwanted solicitation calls and allows you to restrict incoming calls when you don’t want to be disturbed.  Call Management service gives you control over who can call and when calls get delivered to your phone.

Known Caller List

Call Management service creates a “known caller” list for each subscriber.  Calls that are received by a number not on the “known caller” list or an unavailable number are intercepted.  These callers will hear:

“The number you have reached does not accept calls from telemarketers.  If you are a telemarketer, please add this number to your do not call list and hang up now.  Otherwise, press 1 or stay on the line.”

Any caller outside of the 644 prefix will encounter the “telemarketer” announcement unless they are on your “known caller” list.  Callers will hear the announcement the first time they call and then the service “learns” that they are an accepted caller.

Blocked Caller List

Call Management service also creates a “blocked caller” list for each subscriber.  If you receive a call from a number on the list, the caller will be notified that the number they have reached does not accept calls from the phone number they are calling from.

If private number blocking is activated, private callers will hear:

“The number you have reached does not accept calls from telemarketers or private callers.  If you are a telemarketer, please place this number on your do not call list and hang up now.  If you are not a telemarketer, please press 1 to reveal your caller ID information and your call will be completed.  Otherwise, please hang up.”

Online Management

The Call Portal gives you 24/7 access to your Call Management service.  If you decide you don’t want a particular number to phone them again, you can add it to your Blocked Caller List.  You can also temporarily deactivate and then reactivate the service.
